Choose to Serve the Lord - Multiple Puzzles

Since this is a long song with 2 verses and a bridge, I taught each verse separately and treated the bridge as a 3rd verse. I spent 3-4 weeks teaching each verse. I repeated this activity for each verse to help the children understand who these scripture heroes are and what they did.

This activity uses the same print-out from the Hero Stories activity. For this activity, I cut the hero pictures into 4-6 puzzle pieces and spread all of the pieces around the chalk board with magnets. For an easier activity, group the puzzle pieces together for each picture. For a harder activity, intermix the puzzle pieces across all of the puzzles. 

I asked for volunteers to come up to the board and work on the puzzle while we sang the verse on repeat. I typically have 2 kids work on the puzzle at a time. After they complete one puzzle match, they choose another child to take their place. We sing through the song until all the puzzles are complete.

I also put the hero names and song lines on the board in random places. After the puzzles were complete, the children matched up the names and song lines with the correct hero picture.
